The Apostle Paul (1:1). Next to the Lord Jesus, Paul's "footprints" sink deeper on the pages of the New Testament than any of the other Apostles. He wrote (if you include Hebrews) 14 of the Epistles in the New Testament.

Spiritually: they were "in Christ Jesus". Geographically: they were in the Roman colony of Philippi. Circurstantally: they were very concered about Paul's imprisonment.
