Introduction:

The Writer: (1:1)

The Apostle Paul (1:1). Next to the Lord Jesus, Paul's "footprints" sink deeper on the pages of the New Testament than any of the other Apostles. He wrote (if you include Hebrews) 14 of the Epistles in the New Testament.

The Readers: (1:1)--According to 1 Thess. They were:

Geographically: in the city of Thessalonica.

Spiritually: they were "in God Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ."

Circurstantally: they were in the midst of "much affliction" (1 Thessalonians 1:6).

The above still applied when Paul wrote his Second Epistle to them.

The Theme: (2:1-2)

The church and the day of the Lord.!

The Purpose:

To correct misunderstandings concerning Persecution (1), Prephecy (2), and Practice (3)

Our sincere prayer:

is that this series of messages will help and give you a greater longing for the Second Coming of our blessed Lord Jesus. May you be encouraged by the Word!.
